A striking hand-knotted antique Ushak rug, admired for its large-scale design, soft wool and beautifully aged character. The warm coral-red field is decorated with an open arrangement of stylised floral and geometric motifs in muted shades of blue, green, gold and earthy brown.
The broad decorative border complements the spacious central field, creating the relaxed and expressive composition characteristic of traditional Ushak weaving. Years of natural wear have softened the colours beautifully, giving the rug a wonderful faded patina and authentic antique appearance.
With its impressive proportions and distinctive time-worn character, this Ushak would make a superb statement piece in a large drawing room, dining room or spacious contemporary interior.
